Why Atmospheric Science?
For me, it all goes back to August, 1992. I was six years old. My family had evacuated New Orleans to my grandparents' house in a rural town more than a hour north of the city. There was a storm, a storm that had wreaked havoc on south Florida, and it looked like home could be next. The next few days were a mixture of chaos, excitement, and fear. While Hurricane Andrew spared us, I will never forget the footprint it left on my life.
