There could be several aerosol layers transported from Idaho/CA, most intense at 4-5km, a weak 6km layer, another at ~10km. These aerosol layers have similar depolarizaiton. (Source of the HSRL data: http://hsrl.ssec.wisc.edu.)
Ozonesonde lost signal at 14km, recovered signal at 16km, and finally burst at ~18km (earlier than usual). Tropopause is estimated at ~15km. The 10.5-km (~25ppb) enhanced ozone layer is associated with the smoke. The major aerosol layer at 4 km has a ~15 ppb ozone enhancement with a thickness of ~1.5km. The PBL top (suggested by theta, RH, and T) is rather shallow for summertime 1PM likely due to the cold frontal passage.
